        Answer: You need to visit the Police secretary Monday thru Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm for copies of reports. Some reports may
        not be available due to their nature. Yes, there is a cost, its $2.00

        Question: Are Fireworks permitted within the Sturgis City limits?
        Answer: Yes, starting this year the City of Sturgis is allowing fireworks to be used on July 3rd and 4th only! Anyone caught
        using them outside those dates will be given a ticket.

            Following is the city ordinance covering Fireworks:

CHAPTER 12.08
FIREWORKS

12.08.01: LIMITATION

This Chapter shall not apply to ammunition for firearms nor shall it apply to explosives such as dynamite or TNT, which
are used for industrial purposes and are not used or kept for public display.

12.08.02 SALE

No person shall sell or offer for sale any fireworks within the limits of the City or within one mile thereof.

12.08.03: USE

No person shall explode, set off or fire any fireworks within the City or within one mile thereof except during the specified allowable
time period which shall commence at 6:00am July 3rd and end 12:00am July 5th.

No person shall at any time including the time period specified above explode, set off or fire any fireworks within the City park.

12.08.04: RESTRICTION BY RESOLUTION

The use of fireworks within the limits of the City may be restricted by resolution of the City Council as the City Council may deem
necessary due to the existence of heightened fire danger.
