Patrol Division                                 

Patrol, the foundation of the Police Department. We currently have 12 officers assigned to the patrol division. This includes 7 patrolmen, 3 sergeants, and 1 assistant chief. There are 4 patrol shifts which provides 24 hour coverage 7 days a week.
 

There's an am shift consisting of the assistant chief and 1 patrolman.
A am/pm shift consisting of 1 sergeant and 2 patrolman.
A pm/am shift consisting of 1 sergeant and 2 patrolman.
And a cover shift consisting of 1 sergeant and 2 patrolman.

In 2006, the Sturgis Police Department responded to 10,705 calls for service.

        Anyone interested in riding with a police Officer? Just print and fill out the form below and submit it in person to the Police Department at least one day in advance. We will make arrangements for you to ride with an officer (depending on room in vehicles on the date requested). Also, if you are under the age of 18, you will need to have your parents fill out the "Parental Consent" section of the form.
